Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a medium-sized coastal city and seaside resort community in Orange County, California. It is the 293^nd largest community in the state and has around five neighborhoods. It is gorgeous year-round in Laguna Beach with a mild climate and so many beautiful scenic coves and beach areas. It has a council-manager form of city government and an eclectic and creative atmosphere due to the number of artists, designers and media workers that call this city home. Over 95% of the local workforce is white-collar in nature and around 17% of the local workforce works from home, via telecommuting, freelance efforts and home-based businesses. It is a wealthy city compared to both state and federal economic standards. The city has an estimated population of around 23,000 people and an approximate population density of around 2600 people per square mile. In 2017, the estimated median household income in Lake Forest was $123,858 and the per capita income was estimated at $91,375. In the same year housing values were estimated at over $1,000,000 for houses and condos, the mean price on all housing units was over $1,000,000 per housing unit and the median gross rent was around $2,311 per month.

Settlers first arrived in the area that would one day be Laguna Beach shortly after the Civil War and a community quickly sprang up. Both the community and the beach area were expanded in the 1880s to accommodate the quickly growing population and the city was officially established its post office in 1887 under the name Laguna Canyon which was later changed to Languna Beach. From the beginning the area was developed as a tourist destination because of all the wonderful natural beaches and waterside activities.  The beautiful scenery and coastal landscape made it a natural fit. An artistic community was founded in the community in the early part of the  1900s and the city still retains that eclectic atmosphere today. The city has continued to grow and prosper since its founding and has grown into the bustling community that so many loves to call home.
