Rancho Santa Margarita is a young medium-sized master-planned community/city in sunny Orange County, California. It is perfect for professionals, families, and retirees. In 2017, the estimated median household income was $112,643, and the estimated per capita income was $49,031. And in the same year, the median house or condo value was $677,977, the mean price on all housing units was $826,523 and the median gross rent was $1,911. As of 2010, the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report presented the top five employers as Applied Medical, O’Connell Landscape Maintenance, Saddleback Valley Unified School District, Lucas, and Mercier Construction and Control Components Inc.

Public education is provided by the schools of two districts, Saddleback Valley Unified School District and Capistrano Unified School District. The community has four nearby county parks and thirteen community parks with a variety of amenities.
