Word of the year.
The last few years, I’ve had a word or a theme of the year.
2024 the word was focus.
It was honestly the first year in my professional career I can say that I didn’t get distracted.
and go figure…
We hit most of our goals and had our biggest growth year yet.
It also happened to be the most boring year so far.
Here are a few major takeaways that helped us stay focused.
– More > Better > New
– What, How, Who
– Crystal Clear Vision
Basically, in summary… Know where you’re going. Do more of what already works. Keep your (admin) team aligned on fewer projects or tasks.
When I say it was a boring year, it’s not because nothing exciting happened. A ton of exciting stuff happened. It’s because we doubled down on what was already working and didn’t add anything new.
New = Fun and exciting
More = Growth and profit
I’ll take boring any day. Also, I’ve realized that a huge pain point I’ve had in my career so far is that I love doing new stuff.
So… the word of the year for 2024 was focus.
The word for 2025…
… action.
This next year is going to be a huge growth year for our company and myself personally. To hit our goals, I’m going to have to get way out of my comfort zone.
and I’m stoked for it.
