I saw an ad this morning.
Something about it interested me enough to click and opt-in on the page.
3-4 hours later…
… I got a call from someone who said I inquired on their ad.
He asked me what I found interesting about it.
I genuinely had no idea what he was talking about.
Fast Value: The better experience your leads have interacting with you and your marketing, the more money you’ll make. It’s not about “closing”, it’s about the entire experience from click to close.
Here is the full story…
I inquired on an ad at 7am. I got a call at 10:45am and had already completely forgot about it.
3 hours and 45 minutes.
My real question is… how long after opting into their ad did I completely forget about it?
3 hours?
2 hours?
1 hour?
30 minutes?
5 minutes?
1 minute?
We’ve all heard about “speed to lead”
But this is why it’s so important.
Not to mention… when he got me on the phone, he clearly had no script at all and had the worst tone I’ve ever heard on a sales call.
If I knew the name of the company, I definitely wouldn’t buy.
So here is the real question….
What does it look like to be one of your leads?
Do you follow up? If so, how long does it take?
Do you have a good intro script? If so, how does your tone sound?
Do you have an automated follow-up to help your leads better understand what you do? Or are you just asking, “Are you ready to buy/sell?”
I’ll share an example from the opposite end of the spectrum…
I’ve invested nearly $100k to go through Alex Hormozi’s workshops. They have a killer sales team and an equally as talented marketing team.
So I was testing on their website, how they do things.
At 7:54pm on a Sunday, I opted-in to their form, and at 7:56pm I got a personalized text message:
“Hey Christian! Saw you booked on my calendar for tomorrow, did you need another ticket?”
Not only did he respond immediately, but he knew that I was already a customer. (aka – he read notes in the CRM)
That is what separates killer salespeople from the rest.
Doing the basics. At a high level. Consistently.
Here is some advice if you want to increase your sales.
Pro-Tip: You already know what you need to do. Do it.
