Two down, fifty to go.
Now that we’re two weeks into the year, your business plan is done (I hope).
You’ve had two weeks to kickstart your database.
Are you on track to hit your goals? If you’re saying it’s too early to tell, I have news for you. It’s not.
I’ll share one of the biggest hacks I’ve done in my professional career.
Step 1 – Take your business plan (yes, this requires you’ve actually done one).
Step 2 – Break your annual goals down to quarterly goals.
Step 3 – Now, take your quarterly goals and break them down even smaller into weekly goals.
Step 4 – Once you have weekly goals, you can plug the activities into your calendar. We call this time-blocking.
Example: Your goal is to sell 24 homes this year. You know that you need to go on 40 appointments a month to do that.
40 appointments a month = 10 appointments per week
You work five days a week, so you know you need to set 2 appointments per day.
How do you set appointments? Let’s say it’s by calling your database and a pond of available leads.
To set 2 appointments a day, you’ll need to time-block 3 hours per day. Bingo!
Pro-tip: This is a lot easier when you track your activities. We use our CRM to do all the heavy lifting, but if you don’t have one, a note on your phone, whiteboard, or paper will work, too.
So, instead of saying it’s too early to tell if you’re on track to hit your goals. Ask yourself, “Have I done the amount of work required to hit my goal?” AKA – Have you been on the phone for 3 hours per work day so far this year?
If you haven’t done this year, don’t worry. Most won’t ever do it.
The good news is you can put yourself SO FAR AHEAD of your competition by doing it now.
I’ll check in with you about this next quarter… and every quarter after that. Forever. Because that’s what it takes to be successful. Consistently doing what you know you need to do (and what you say you’re going to do).
