Why Do People Say It’s Slow in December

“Why do people say that it’s slow in December?”

A first-year agent on our team asked this last week.

Agents that are working through the end of the year always have a huge December.

Why?

Because SO MANY agents take off the second the Thanksgiving turkey goes in the oven. Some even do it when the trick-or-treaters come out.

This does two major things…
– Lowers the competition for agents who are still working
– Lowers the bar for expectations for buyers and sellers

The outcome… Agents who work through the end of the year end up having a huge December, AND that rolls into a busy January.

Think about it. Most agents don’t work from November 20th until January 10th. (the hangover is too bad on January 1st)

Here is a checklist to make sure that you make the most of the rest of your 2024:
1. Do your business plan
2. Do annual equity reviews for all your homeowners
3. Set up a 2025 game plan for your whole database

If you do that, you’ll be off to a huge head start from most agents in January. Do not wait until January to do your business plan.

At least do that before the end of the year.

BTW – Q4 is tied for our 2nd highest-producing quarter from this year.

Hope you found this helpful.
