You’re not doing enough to get where you want to be.
I’m not doing enough to get where I want to be.
That hurts… if it’s true.
I hope it’s not true for you, but if it is… I’m going to share with you my realization that I need to be doing more. Maybe you’ll be able to relate. I’m also going to share what changes I’m making.
First off, let me explain where this thinking came from.
I got back from Tom Ferry’s Elite Retreat in Orlando Tuesday night after a quick trip. Everyone always asks…
“was it worth it?”
Yes, it was.
There were a lot of great takeaways throughout the two days, but the one I needed was exactly how I started this…
I’m not doing enough.
Now I’ll be clear… I do a lot. I work a ton of hours, and my work is incredibly focused (just like anyone on my team). Yet… to get to where I want to be, I need to do more.
In a mastermind group, I shared this with my friends, and they asked if I am able to add anything to my plate. The answer is no. I don’t have any more room on my plate.
So… if this new thing is that important, I’m going to have to remove some things from my plate.
There are a lot of agents that might feel the same way. The feeling of not doing enough to get where we want to be and unsure what to add or take off your plate. I think too many people feel this way.
Which leads me to another takeaway… What is the #1 most important goal you need to hit this year? What is the most important if you could only hit one of your goals?
I am on track to hit my #1 goal this year, and that is because it has been a clear focus for almost a full year. Now, it’s time to focus on goal #2.
I need to make sure that I’m still doing everything that needs to be done to hit goal #1… AND add a new focus to hit goal #2.
Here is what I’m doing…
- Trimming the fat off my calendar
- Adding more hours to my week
- Setting a budget for testing
- Tracking to see what’s working vs. what’s not
That’s it. Then, do the work.
If you’re wondering why I’m being so vague about what my goals are, it is so that you can insert your goals. My goals are just that, mine. You have your own goals, and that’s what is important.
The four steps I shared above are the same steps you might need to follow if you’re serious about making the change—the change to go from where you’re at to hitting your goal.
Hope you find this thinking helpful… This was a bit different style than my regular post, and it comes straight from the heart.

PS – I had the opportunity to speak at this year’s Elite Retreat in a breakout session in front of 450+ Agents and Team Leaders.
My coach, Tausha, asked me to share our blueprint for growing our team.
I shared what we have done to grow from 16 agents to 45+ agents in less than a year.
One thing that surprised most people is that we share EVERYTHING you’d want to know about our team up front, from what we offer to the splits and the fees, all on our website.
